    Red-billed oxpecker
    The red-billed oxpecker (Buphagus erythrorhynchus) is a passerine bird in the starling and myna family, Sturnidae; some ornithologists regard the oxpeckers to be in a family by themselves, the Buphagidae. It is native to the savannah of sub-Saharan Africa, from the Central African Republic east to South Sudan and south to northern and eastern South Africa. Its range overlaps that of the less widespread yellow-billed oxpecker. Distribution The red-billed oxpecker is a native of the savanna of sub-Saharan Africa. It ranges across Ethiopia and Somalia through Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, and Zambia to southern Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, southern Mozambique, and north-eastern South Africa.     私のよく使う手ですと、野生種なら最後、『The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species』（公式webサイト）での検索まで持って行きます。
    　
    「アカハシウシツツキ」をweb検索エンジンで検索する。
    ↓
    学名「Buphagus erythrorynchus」の文字列をコピーする。
    ↓
    『The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species』にアクセスし、
    [Enter Red List search term(s)]に学名をペーストして[GO]で検索する。
    （『The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species』のURL：
    http://www.iucnredlist.org/search ）
    ↓
    ヒットしたページで、該当する学名のページを開く。
    ヒットしなければ、未評価、又は、登録されている学名がクエリ（検索ワード）と異なる、という可能性有り。
    その場合は、属名か種小名だけで検索したり、シノニム（異名）で検索したりする。
    スペルミス（綴り間違い）もよくあるので、別の所に記されている学名をコピペして検索してみるのも有り。
    ↓
    ページ上部に保全状況が示されているので、そこで確認する。
    或いは、ページ内の「Assessment Information」の「Previously published Red List assessments:」に、保全状況の評価の推移が記されているので、そこでも確認出来る。
    ↓
    「2012 – Least Concern (LC)」←低懸念（低危険）だと判断。
