Some players will have a game switching between 3 modules of dynamic difficulty (which was always the case so far), some players will have a variant switching between 4 modules (which is new). It's unknown how the game switches between modules, though the player skill during his progress probably plays a role.

Just to be clear, all STB so far had 3 modules of difficulties, so these things are not new, just a feature invisible to the player. What is new is that some players will test a STB with 4 modules difficulties. Probably nobody will notice any difference.
