The SPU-T1 released by Ortofon at the same time as the Meister had a gain of 26dB. The T-7000 also has a gain of 25dB, so it seems to be just right.
The 618B has a gain of 29dB, and the KS-9450 has a slightly lower gain of 20dB.
I am currently conducting a comparative audition of Langevin 408A (gain 31dB) and KS9450, which seem to be the most compatible in terms of electrical characteristics among the transformers I have.
The Peerless4722 has the same characteristics as the Langevin 408A, but the sound quality is dry and too bright, so it doesn't seem to be compatible with SPU.
